A new national home for independent media
The National Association of Independent Media (NAOIM) is opening its public website and membership application process as a founding-stage national association for independent media professionals, publishers, creators, educators, and mission-driven organizations.
NAOIM exists to strengthen independent media through education, professional development, ethical standards, shared resources, and meaningful connection.
Membership applications are open
Applicants may work across journalism, broadcasting, podcasting, publishing, documentary production, newsletters, public-interest reporting, media education, local and community media, media technology, creator education, and nonprofit or mission-driven media.
Every application is reviewed for eligibility and alignment with the NAOIM Values Pledge and Nonpartisan Commitment. Payment is requested only after approval.
Built with public accountability
NAOIM is publishing its governance framework, policies, founding-stage disclosures, and organizational updates through its Policy Library and Transparency Center. These resources will continue to be updated as the organization reaches new legal, governance, and program milestones.
Visit the Transparency Center or contact NAOIM for additional information.
