Founding-stage disclosure

NAOIM is being developed as a nonprofit organization with a public-interest mission focused on education, ethical media standards, press freedom, and support for independent media professionals. NAOIM intends to seek recognition as a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Until such recognition is granted by the Internal Revenue Service, NAOIM should not be described as an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3), and contributions should not be represented as tax-deductible.

Future updates

This page will be updated when NAOIM's legal formation and federal tax status change. Contributors should rely on the written acknowledgment and status disclosure provided at the time of a contribution.
