Our Core Values & Standards

At the National Association of Independent Media (NAOIM), we believe that independence does not mean a lack of accountability. While we embrace the freedom of modern digital platforms, we remain anchored by the timeless principles of professional journalism and broadcasting.

1. Radical Independence

We are beholden only to the truth and our audience. We advocate for a media landscape free from the undue influence of corporate conglomerates and political party agendas. Our members maintain the right to report and comment without fear of censorship or institutional pressure.

2. Commitment to Accuracy

In an era of "viral" misinformation, NAOIM members strive for the highest level of factual accuracy. We believe in verifying sources, correcting errors transparently, and distinguishing clearly between news reporting and opinion.

3. Nonpartisan Integrity

NAOIM does not exist to serve a political party; we exist to serve the public interest. We believe in the power of a "Free Press" as defined by the First Amendment—a press that holds all power-brokers accountable, regardless of their political affiliation.

4. Professional Ethics

Independence is earned through ethical behavior. We encourage our members to follow the "NAOIM Code of Conduct," which includes:

  • Transparency: Disclosing potential conflicts of interest.
  • Accountability: Taking responsibility for the content we produce.
  • Decency: Treating subjects and audiences with respect, even during vigorous debate.

5. Educational Empowerment (The Foundation)

Through our 501(c)(3) Foundation, we are committed to mentoring the next generation of independent creators. We believe that by teaching the "forgotten" standards of traditional broadcasting to new-age influencers, we can elevate the quality of the entire digital media industry.

The NAOIM "Pledge of Independence"

Every member of NAOIM agrees to the following:

"I pledge to operate with honesty, to value the truth over the 'click,' and to maintain my independence as a voice for my community. I believe that my credibility is my greatest asset, and I will protect it through ethical storytelling and rigorous transparency."
